I am one of those paranoid Moms who really DOES NOT WANT LICE IN HER HOUSE! When the Teddy Bear who travels from house to house came to our home, the first thing that I did was wash it! My daughter wears her hair UP every single day! This will change as she grows older, but for now, in the young years when the kids are in such close quarters etc. etc., I will do everything in my power to keep our house lice free! The shampoo is probably my most favourite product of all of them! It smells so yummy and it lathered nicely.
We found we had to use a bit more of the conditioner compared to our other conditioner in order to keep the detangling quality the same. We LOVE the smell of this conditioner! Yum! Yum!
We used the hair gel every day that my daughter went to school to help keep her hair from flying away when I put it up in a pony tail, a braid or pig tails. It worked, although it was a bit sticky, but maybe that is part of the trick of being lice free ;) It too smells nice, light and even slightly minty! LOVE IT!
I really like the option of having a detangling spray for times when we don't use enough regular conditioner (my 6 year old likes to have more and more control and sometimes she doesn't use enough!) or for when we go to the pool.
I love the idea of the Shield Spray! I did use it on my daughter's backpack because we all know that backpacks hang side by side and when there is a huge lice infestation in a classroom (which we did have in my daughter's classroom this spring!), the lice can crawl from one bag to the next very easily. The one thing about the spray that left me slightly uneasy was the flammable label on the spray. I'm not too sure how I feel about that. The jury is out on that.

The Zippity Doo’s Line is a great not only does the packaging look fun and colorful (which my kids absolutely love), they are made with naturals ingredients and smell great also unlike some other lice products that stink… LOL! I used the shampoo, conditioner, styling gel and leave in spray on Little Baby’s and Little A’s hair and it left their hair shiny, silky, smooth and frizz free and at the same time it’s helping with the prevention of lice. If any of you know lice is not fun at all and it can also be a big headache!! So I’m very happy that Zippty Doo's exists since it allows you to take those preventative measures. I also love that the Zippty Doo's line comes with a great hair regimen of products(shampoo,conditioner, styling gel and leave in spray) that work very well together and leave you hair looking fab while protecting you at the same time and a Shielding Spray for hair and surfaces. I really recommend Zippty Doo's if any of you have kids that are in school or heading to summer camp very soon and want to protect you little ones from the not so fun lice and like they say at Zippty Doo's "Why Treat Head Lice When You Can Prevent It!"
My Thoughts-
I was very interested in trying out this product because I remember being a camp counselor and we had head lice going through the camp. We had to wash each girls with that stinky shampoo that you have to use when you get lice and then I had to comb through their hair. After taking care of them I had to do all that to my hair. It was NOT fun and if there was a product out there that would prevent head lice I want it.
Zippity Doo products claim just that, they are a head lice prevention product.
I always test products on myself before I let my kids use them. So my review are my actual thoughts on the product. I won’t be able to attest to the lice prevention because I don’t know if we’ve been anywhere anyone with it. But I do know you have some questions. Like “How does it smell?”, “how well does it was?” and “how does it feel?”
I love the smells of all of the products I used. it’s pleasant but not too strong and my oldest was hugging me and told me my hair smelled good, what did I put in it. After washing my hair felt a bit stiff but then I used the conditioner my hair felt so soft. I also used the leave in detangler and that made it easier to comb through my hair. I love the feeling of each product in my hair and to make it fun each product is a different color.
Like I said at the beginning of my post, we had a lice break out at camp. With camp season just around the corner maybe this would be a great time for you to buy some Zippity Doo products for your child.

Zippity Doo sent me their complete hair care set to try out. I don’t really have to worry about lice at the moment since I’m at home all day long and my son isn’t attending school yet. But I do have younger siblings who attend an elementary school where lice is not an uncommon problem. They’ve agreed to help me test out this hair care line and share their thoughts. Of course, even though I am not a kid, I had to try Zippity Doo first!
I tried shampoo and conditioner on my own adult hair. Even though they are meant for kids, they actually did a great job of washing my hair. What defines a great job? When your hair dries out and it’s not as frizzy as it’s naturally supposed to be. I also tried the styling gel by combing a tiny amount of it though wet hair. It did not make my hair greasy, but added some shine to it! Another product I liked was the Shield Spray. I love the idea of spraying belongings like backpacks and hats. Anything to reduce the chance of catching lice! So overall I thought Zippity Doo is a very inventive and well thought-through hair care line. For me, there was only one negative and that’s the scent. I found all products to have a very strong minty scent. If you are a peppermint-scent fan than you’ll love this line!
My 12 year old sister had a chance to also try out the complete Zippity Doo line. The first thing she said after testing it out was that all the products didn’t smell very good except the shampoo which smelled ok. She used the detangler spray and noticed that it worked right away! It made her hair look in between greasy and shiny, but took out all the knots. The shampoo was ok, but conditioner worked wonders. She said that both shampoo and conditioner are better than most shampoos she’s used in the past. And she was very happy that she got to keep the set so she can keep on using it!

This package was really neat to open. Very colorful, Color coded is nice. Label wording is easy to read, small print takes my glasses. I love how they arnt the chemically smelling, cause my kids hate chemically smelling. They all worked really well. Zippity Doo’s is great for kids that go to school or daycare, that are around loads of kids on a daily basis. We cannot see these creatures by the naked eye, we can only by using a lice comb, wish it came with one. Those combs are great. I myself never had lice [knock on wood]. I know alot of my cousins did, they always used olive oil. Which is great, but trying to get oil out a kids hair is truly impossible. This stuff is nice, cause it has many levels you can work with to help prevent them and if you do kill the eggs before they hatch. Lice is like the worst thing a kid can get. Its not like a sickness where it will eventually go away. It only goes away if you KILL it, or the eggs. Every mom in the world should just buy this and keep it around just in case that day comes. Cause you don’t want to freak out at the store trying to find some, if they even have it. You can find it at these places! I am so glad I have me some bottle for that “Just in Case days” Since I have a 3 year old in preschool and a 15 month old that goes to daycare a hr for 4 days a wk. These products are the best ive seen so far. All the other ones, smell, or take to much effort. These dont, and its fun too! They have wonderful customer service and they ship fast and very well packaged!

Anyone who has ever been through a lice infestation knows that it’s much better to avoid lice than to remove them once you’ve got them. Lice treatments for people and for the home (bedding, carpet, towels….) contain harsh ingredients that I’m not comfortable with, but once you have lice it must be dealt with. Preventing lice with a safe product is a much better alternative.
Zippity Doo’s products are paraben free, SLS free and pediatrician approved. They contain natural ingredients including lemongrass, tea tree, rosemary, lavender, sage and spearmint. These things smell good to me, but lice and other bugs don’t like them.

The products are impressive and I love the whole idea behind this line. It’s great to be able to use safe and gentle products instead of toxic products to kill and remove lice.
The shampoo, conditioner and gel have a mild-ish herbal scent. It’s there, but the scent is not stronger than regular kids’ shampoo. The 2 spray products (Shield Spray & Detangler) have a stronger aroma that I associate with natural bug spray or bug repelling candles.
They’re gentle and can be used daily like regular hair care products, but you’ll have peace of mind as you send your kids off to school, camp, church or community activities. Usually by the time schools or other group leaders warn parents that there is a lice problem, it’s too late.
The products are mild enough for kids, but also work well for adults. I’d especially recommend them for teachers and others who work around children.

A Delicious Obsession
First of all I must report than since using the Zippity Doos haircare line, my daughter has NOT come home with head lice! I have been using Zippity Doos shampoo, conditioner and leave-in detangler on her hair daily for the past 3 weeks. We have also tried the shield spray in the morning a couple of times (when I remembered). Bella loves this stuff! First of all and not really relevant, it is so fun to say "Zippity Doos!" The shampoo and conditioner smells much better than the head lice shampoo, but it has a stronger scent than normal shampoos letting me know that it does have some active ingredients to deter those little nasty bugs from jumping to my little girl's head! The leave-in detangler works very well making it easier to comb through Bella's long hair. He hair looks so clean and pretty while using Zippity Doos haircare products!
I have heard that Tea Tree Oil is effective in repelling lice and was happy to notice that Tea Tree Oil is one of the main ingredients in the Zippity Doos haircare line! Another great thing is that you can spray the shield spray on your child's belongings to repel head lice. This is great since many times head lice jump from coat to coat while hanging in our children's cubbies at school! I will continue to use Zippity Doos haircare for my daughter! It is SO worth it to avoid the awful aggravation of head lice!
Adventures of a Thrifty Mommy
I remember when I was little, I brought head lice home from public school. It was aweful; my mom would spend hours combing through my long thick hair with a fine toothed comb seeking out the eggs and larva, eeewww!!! I'd have to use a strong, chemical shampoo to rid my head of the lice, I can still smell it, yuck!

My thoughts...
The smell is a bit strong. All of the products seem to smell like Citronella candles to me. However, the smell is better after rinsed and dried.
When I first tried these, I used the blue hair gel instead of the shampoo (by accident). That didn't work so well...lol, so if you buy these remember the GREEN one is the shampoo. LOL. I used all of the products on myself, and most of them on the boys.
The shampoo doesn't lather much, but boy does it clean well! Hair is squeaky clean after using the shampoo.
The conditioner is light, but leaves hair manageable.
I think t hese products help leave a barrier on hair, making it more difficult for lice to attach themselves and make themselves at home.
I, personally, did not like the detangler on my hair. It seemed to make my hair less manageable. I used the detangler on my wet hair, and did not try it on dry hair because my hair does not snarl when dry. It may work better on dry hair.
The hair gel was a little watery to me, but it seemed to do it's job. It was easy to make my boys' hair spikey (which they all had fun with). The kids having fun + lice prevention = great deal to me!
The shield spray goes on items such as hats, helmets, combs, toys, pillows, etc.

We have been using Zippity Doo's for about a month, and we haven't had any lice. Could be coincidence, but I imagine it has helped to use this product. My daughter has really thick and curly hair, and with that comes all of the fun stuff it seems. Between the tangles and having to keep it clean and from getting frizzy, every year it seems as though we have to battle head lice at least once a year. Those nasty little buggers are such a nuisance, and it seems that with her in school, if someone at school gets them, she will get them. Lice seem to like her hair and then with it being so thick and curly, trying to get rid of them can be a pain in my booty. From all of the treatments, to having to clean, replace and spray down everything in our house and car, lice suck!!! So when I was given the chance to review the products from Zippity Doo's, I was thinking to myself Yippity Doo!!! This year has been a bad one for head lice at my daughters school and it seems that just as soon as we think that we have completely gotten rid of the nasty buggers, she gets another outbreak and we have to start all over again. Our son had a bad case of head lice last year which spread to my daughter and myself. While we finally got that under control…(which took weeks, ugh!).... a friend recommended an over-the-counter shampoo and spray that is supposed to keep lice away. However, the kids complained about the smell (which was indeed too strong). My daughter also complained that her neck felt itchy and burning when we used the spray on her hair. But another friend then recommended Zippity Doo’s. The kids did not complain about using Zippity Do since it had no smell, and my daughter actually likes using the conditioner on a weekly basis. (The pretty color also helps.) I also use the shield for their caps when they play sports, since I don’t want to take any chances of getting lice again. So far it’s all worked!
